PIMFA Insurance Distribution Directive Guide

The Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) replaces the Insurance Mediation Directive (IMD). It is a minimum harmonising directive and aims to create a level playing field across all participants selling insurance products. It seeks to ensure consistent prudential standards for intermediaries as well as raising conduct standards, increasing transparency and fairness, enhancing consumer protection and promoting competition.
