Constructive Advocacy

As the voice of the industry, PIMFA champions our members to key stakeholders such as regulators, policymakers, business leaders, media and consumers. Through our renowned compliance, regulatory and public affairs work, we work to actively educate and positively impact perceptions of our sector. We promote our sector as a force for good to help build a thriving culture of financial health and a culture of saving and investment in the UK. We also promote access and nurture innovation by leading the way in developing best practice across the industry in areas of change and advancement such as digital transformation, DE&I and ESG.

Representation

Representing the views of our members to regulators and the Government through 28 individual consultation and policy submissions across a broad range of priorities and initiatives.

Regulatory Dialogue

25 formal member meetings with the FCA facilitating direct member representation and regulatory dialogue.

Engagement

Working-level engagement with 40+ key stakeholders across the FCA, HM Treasury, FOS, and FSCS.

Guidance

60+ member-specific policy queries handled, providing anonymised, redacted best practice guidance and regulatory interpretation

Industry Events

PIMFA Policy Team speaking at 25+ industry events, securing visibility on high-profile platforms to disseminate our key positions and influence the sector.

Roundtables

Our team convened multiple senior-level roundtables with member CEOs, regulators, and officials (FCA, FSCS, FOS) to influence supervisory and policy priorities.

Coalition Work

Joint advocacy and coalition work with partner associations, including co-signed letters to the Government, HM Treasury, and FCA on disclosures, VAT, inheritance tax, and accelerated settlement timelines.

Advocating Change

Continue to run an extensive programme of public affairs, regulatory and operational driven engagement to ensure we consistently engage and influence senior regulatory and Government stakeholders and statutory bodies to represent our members’ needs, educate and to promote the value of our industry and advocating for change.

Political Stakeholders

Direct engagement with Parliament and political stakeholders, including member engagement and bilateral with the City Minister and Opposition Shadow, and formal submissions to Select Committee calls for evidence on the regulatory change agenda.
