PIMFA announces shortlist for second Diversity & Inclusion Awards

PIMFA, the trade association for wealth management, investment services and the investment and financial advice industry, is delighted to announce the shortlist for its second Diversity & Inclusion Awards (see below).

Launched last year and opening to entries in April, PIMFA’s industry awards demonstrate our continuing commitment to promote diversity and inclusion best practice within the financial services industry. In June, PIMFA also published two reports: one looking at the regulatory expectations the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has of firms with regard to diversity and inclusion, and the second taking some examples of best practice from last year’s awards and demonstrating the initiatives already out there that others can take inspiration from.

Those shortlisted will now be judged by a group of industry peers alongside experts in diversity and inclusion from charities that PIMFA partner with which include Richard Wilson, Chief Executive of Interactive Investor; Peter Moores, Chief Executive of Raymond James; Jennifer Mathias, Chief Finance Officer at Rathbones; Theresa Heaton, Head of Change at Brown Shipley; Matt Cameron, Global Managing Director at LGBT Great, and Bev Shah, CEO & Founder, City Hive, among others.

This year’s event, held in partnership with Royal London, Interactive Investor, Morningstar, SEI Investment Europe, Raymond James, ClearStream, Charles Schwab, Sesame Bankhall Group, FIS and Howden, is expected to be even bigger and better – culminating in a gala awards ceremony at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in central London on 19 October 2022.

“Once again it has not been easy for select those people and organisations shortlisted from the many entries. There are some excellent D&I initiatives out there and the continuing work that so many are doing in this area is inspiring.

“PIMFA’s Diversity & Inclusion Awards aim to continue to celebrate the people and organisations that are working hard to ensure our industry better represents the wider society it aims to serve. We still have a journey ahead of us to achieve that goal, but as an industry we are making great strides to equip ourselves for a diverse and inclusive future and we are making progress. I look forward to celebrating that progress with those shortlisted and our winners in October.”
