PIMFA’s response to Public consultation on “minimum requirements implementing the provisions of Directive 2007/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as
regards shareholder identification, the transmission of information and the facilitation of the exercise of shareholders rights”. There are potentially significant operational issues arising from the proposals and, in our view, the proposals in this consultation do not fit well with the nominee account mechanisms in the UK and as a result add nothing to the existing UK framework, apart from additional and unnecessary cost and complexity
