The PIMFA Financial Crime Conference 2023 gives attendees access to industry leading debates from professionals across the regulatory, law enforcement, innovators and providers in the Financial Crime space.
As the financial crime landscape evolves with new techniques and technologies, the growing threat to firms and their clients is undeniable.
In response, regulators are pushing back by implementing stricter controls. Firms need to know how to protect themselves and their clients and what can be done to operate in a safer and more resilient environment.
The Conference will be taking place in-person in London and will also be live-streamed. In-person tickets are limited and early booking is recommended.

Alex joined PIMFA in June 2017 as a Policy Adviser, where she works on a wide range of regulatory matters, engaging with policy makers and the regulator to promote members’ interests.
She previously worked for the Association of Professional Financial Advisers (APFA) in the same capacity. APFA merged with the Wealth Management Association (WMA) to form PIMFA.
Alex has a legal background, having studied law at Cambridge University and was called to the Bar in 1997. She was a tenant at Lamb Chambers, Temple where she specialised in personal injury claims, contractual disputes and professional negligence. Alex has experience of advisory, drafting and court work including appearances in the Court of Appeal, the High Court and county courts.

Nick joined the FCA in 2019 after a decade in financial stability and prudential supervision roles at the FSA, Bank of England and Prudential Regulation Authority. He has also worked in private office for two Ministers of State at HM Treasury. Prior to this role in Consumer Investments, he worked in the FCA’s Financial Resilience Department. He holds an MBA Dip from Said Business School, Oxford University and BA Hons in Financial Management and Italian from Royal Holloway, University of London. He is also a publicly elected volunteer Governor of East Kent Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and previously a Treasurer Trustee at two sports charities.

Most recently, this has included managing the expedited Economic Crime (Transparency and Enforcement) Act 2022 and the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill that is currently in Parliament.
Zara is the Home Office policy lead for anti money laundering and information sharing policy in the Home Office’s Criminal Finances and Asset Recovery Unit. She leads the Home Office’s work on the review of the UK’s anti money laundering supervisory regime and the Economic Crime Data Strategy, an action in the second Economic Crime Plan.

Jeff is called upon to consult on data preservation and identification, early case assessment and investigation strategies and the use of technology assisted review and other artificial intelligence technology. He is considered a thought leader, appearing on panels and in publications. He has successfully argued in arbitration hearings and attended case management conferences as a forensic technology expert.
Avisha, EY Partner based in London, leads EY’s Financial Crime Regulatory Change and Response business helping clients achieve and maintain regulatory compliance. As a part of this remit, she is leading EY’s Financial Crime-ESG Campaign. Avisha has acted on behalf of global regulators over years, with focus on AML, sanctions, KYC and risk assessments. She has worked extensively across the three lines of defence, having acted as Head of Financial Crime within 1LoD and 2LoD of Global Banks. Avisha is recognised for her expertise in developing and leading teams that deliver regulatory ready solutions to complex challenges and for driving financial crime transformation fuelled by regulatory change.

Chris joined the NFIB in 2020 having transferred from the Metropolitan Police. Chris holds the position of Business Stakeholder Manager, which is an outreach, engagement and problem-solving function for anything concerning the NFIB and Action Fraud. Charlie Morrison is a Temporary Inspector in the City of London’s Cyber Crime Unit. In his career he has also worked in response policing and in intelligence. He built and now leads Cyber Griffin, the joint City of London Police and Corporation programme which protects the Square Mile from cyber-attack. This work has origins in both policing and private industry defence practices. His team have responsibility for police taught cyber protection work in Square Mile.
