PIMFA response to HM Revenue & Customs consultation: ‘Stamp Taxes on Shares modernisation’. The proposal to introduce a digital portal through which Stamp Duty could be paid is welcomed, especially if it could accept automated uploads of Stamp Duty data through an API rather than staff having to enter the data manually. In a broader context, PIMFA members would be supportive of any future proposals to reduce the Stamp Duty burden on share purchases to encourage investment and promote UK competition
