This is the eighth edition of the Financial Adviser Market in Numbers report and it paints a picture of a profession which is healthy and growing. To that end, it is particularly pleasing for me to report that in the period covered in this report, the number of registered firms, number of advisers and crucially, the number of people benefitting from financial advice have all grown. In the case of people receiving financial advice the growth is not inconsiderable and this should be cause for celebration.

Whilst this report has been traditionally backwards looking, it would be remiss of us to not evaluate its findings in the context of the current global situation. The figures in this report paint a picture of an industry in good health but the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic will inevitably put it under significant strain.
