SUMMARY:PIMFA Webinar: Imposter or talented over-achiever? Nov 2023
DESCRIPTION:Even though you’ve achieved some success in your career\, do you sometimes feel like an imposter? \nThe Imposter Syndrome is now recognised as a commonplace work experience – especially for career women. It has them attributing their success to luck\, discounting their capabilities and fearing being ex-posed as a fraud. They constantly strive for better results and are generally high achievers as a result – all-though are very unlikely to recognise this. \nHowever\, this over-achieving can lead to burn-out from an overly driven need to succeed. Or\, fear of failure and being found out as a fraud can stop them from stepping up to opportunities that will help them develop their skills\, gain experience and progress their careers. Sheryl Sandberg (COO of Facebook and author of ‘Lean In: Women\, Work\, and the Will to Lead’) says that\, to lean in fully\, women need to get comfortable with their success. When women fully own and appreciate their value\, they can\, then\, denounce the demands and accusations of their internal ‘imposter gremlin’ and embrace and enjoy success. \nWebinar structure: \nDuring this interactive session\, we will investigate the Imposter Syndrome – what it is\, how it can impact performance and how to shift the attitudes that underpin it. You will have the opportunity to explore the impact of the Imposter Syndrome both at a personal level and more widely. Coach and trainer\, Caroline Holt\, will share a simple-to-use and very effective technique for recognising and appreciating your own capabilities and helping others to do the same. You will have the opportunity to practise this during the webinar.\nWebinar take-aways: \n• A greater recognition and appreciation of the value that you bring to a project or organisation\n• Increased motivation to reach for more\n• A powerful technique in your toolkit for building core confidence and inspiring yourself and others to step up to bigger challenges

SUMMARY:PIMFA Webinar: Subject Access Requests: How To Recognise\, Handle and Respond Proportionately!
DESCRIPTION:According to a recent survey\, ‘60% of professionals surveyed across financial services have reported an increase in DSARs over the past year’ and ‘51% have received complaints from data subjects about a data subject access request (DSARs)’. \nThis is not surprising – customers and clients who are unhappy\, or want to find out information which is held on them\, are more cognisant than ever of their rights under DSARS\, and very few employee disputes these days come unaccompanied by a DSAR. \nGiven this\, and the fact that DSARs can be a significant drain on resources and can (very importantly) lead to the provision of information and documentation which was never intended to be made public\, they need to be managed carefully. \nIn this FREE 60-minute webinar\, Richard Preece will speak to Chris Holme and Sarah Riceman from Clyde & Co. They have been managing DSARs (including in relation to large disputes)\, and complaints\, between them for 20 years – and have a huge body of experience around how to manage DSARs\, the legal requirements\, and the ICO’s expectations.  They will discuss how PIMFA member firms can: \n\nReact and respond to a DSAR with professionalism and speed\nEnsure they are correctly identifying and redacting information so as to not disclose any information the requester is not entitled to\nIdentify when a request is manifestly unfounded and excessive and respond appropriately\nRegardless of size\, have effective management in place to efficiently respond to DSARs\nBe prepared for any regulatory scrutiny and enforcement action when handling DSARs

A firm’s value\, brand and credibility can be compromised in a matter of minutes. Government\, regulators\, investors\, clients\, and other stakeholders are increasingly considering risk and resilience from a more holistic perspective. For example\, the proposed The Companies (Strategic Report and Directors’ Report) (Amendment) (the Regulations) 2023 (in draft for approval by Parliament)\, will oblige in-scope firms to provide a Resilience Statement and a separate Material Fraud statement. \nWhy you should attend  \nIn this interactive session\, you will examine the lessons learnt from recent reputational incidents to ensure your firm is prepared to tackle existing and potential threats. In addition\, you’ll take away a toolkit of battle-tested frameworks\, proven strategies\, and key resources to better measure\, manage\, and monitor risk in your firm. \n‘Bring your colleague along for FREE to this session’ \nBy the end of the session\, you’ll: \n• Benchmark your firm’s approach to resilience against your peers \n• Assess your firm’s potential risks\, such as operations threats\, reputation damage\, cyber-attacks\, and unexpected global events \n• Test and strengthen your firm’s approach to managing both internal and external risks to align with FCA expectations \n• Build and integrate processes that anticipates\, prioritises\, and mitigates threats \n• Develop an action and implementation plan to better protect your firm’s reputation \nSpecific areas you will cover in this session include: \nStrategic Analysis. A “what is going on here?” analysis of tectonic forces that are creating increasingly volatile\, uncertain\, complex\, and ambiguous (VUCA) business environment. How this can lead to challenges to firms’ reputation and trustworthiness\, beyond operational disruptions envisaged by Operational Resilience regulations. \nIntegrated Approach. A set of guiding integrated principles and good practices that build upon and join the dots between existing regulatory obligations and can be developed and implemented by firms to enable and protect firms’ achievement of their purpose\, value generation and strategy. \nCulture. Consideration of culture\, individual and collective knowledge\, skills\, attributes\, and behaviours good practice. How these can build and maintain trust even when challenged\, but also can enable thinking fast and right in VUCA environments. \nWho should attend? \n• CEO and board members who seek to develop a strategic approach to managing non-financial risk\, building and maintaining business resilience\, not just operational resilience compliance\, over the short\, medium and long-term \n• Executive and senior leaders (COO\, Financial\, Risk\, Strategy\, Compliance\, Technology\, Security\, HR\, etc) who wish to breakdown silos to achieve shared understanding of managing risk and resilience. \nThis open session is aimed to provide a safe environment for peers to allow a diagnosis of the challenge and the key questions for boards and executives to ask themselves and their firms’. A more tailored closed session(s) can be provided for individual PIMFA members to workshop and scenario test specific challenges and to develop strategy accordingly.” \n  \nBring a colleague along for free! \nPlease use Coupon BOGOF-RES2024 at checkout for 50% OFF two tickets
