  • The Rt Hon John Gummer, Lord Deben

    The Rt. Hon John Gummer, Lord Deben, was a Minister in the governments of Margaret Thatcher and John Major for sixteen years, when he was Secretary of State for Agriculture and Secretary of State for the Environment.

    Prior to becoming Chairman of PIMFA he was Chairman of the Association of Professional Financial Advisers (APFA).   He is a member of the Board of the Castle Trust.  He set up and now runs Sancroft, a Corporate Responsibility consultancy working with blue-chip companies around the world on environmental, social and ethical issues.

    Nick is a Partner at Redmayne Bentley with experience in Wealth Management & Stockbroking extending over three decades. His formative years were spent in dealing, stockbroking and investment management positions before joining Redmayne Bentley’s senior management team in 2008, leading a number of acquisitions and regional expansion. Based in London, Nick sits on a number of Redmayne Bentley’s key control committees and is a member of the Main and Executive Boards where he is central in Redmayne Bentley’s business strategy and development.

    Gary is a Chartered Financial Planner and the Managing Partner of a financial planning and investment management firm based in Dorset serving a small but geographically diverse clientele. Prior to the merger with the WMA Gary was Deputy Chair of APFA. Gary is a Member of the Chartered Insurance Institutes’ Professional Standards Board having previously been Deputy Chair of the Examiners Committee and a senior examiner in the business law, tax and pensions level six qualifications. Gary is a Lay Member of the Upper Tribunal Tax and Chancery Chamber where he makes determinations in references made by firms and individuals in respect of actions taken against them by the Financial Services regulators. From 2006 to 2012 Gary was a member of the FSA’s Regulatory Decisions Committee.

  • Tracey Davidson
    Deputy CEO, Handelsbanken Plc and Chair of Heartwood Wealth Management

    Tracey is Deputy Chief Executive of Handelsbanken Plc, the UK arm of Handelsbanken Group.

    Tracey started her career at Barclays where she worked across the UK latterly in a variety of senior positions within the corporate and wealth management divisions. Tracey joined Handelsbanken in 2003 and accelerated her career quickly becoming Senior Vice President and Head of Northern UK. During this time Tracey was entrusted to lead an acquisition team to identify and acquire an investment and wealth management business. After the successful acquisition of Heartwood (a wholly owned subsidiary of Handelsbanken Plc), Tracey was appointed CEO in 2014. During Tracey’s tenure as CEO, the firm received numerous awards for its global multi-asset funds, wealth management solutions, and as Best Private Bank. In 2019 Tracey took on the position of Deputy CEO of Handelsbanken Plc.

    Tracey is also a Board member of the Chartered Institute for Securities And Investment (CISI). Tracey was named one of PAM’s Top 50 Most Influential in 2019. She also received the ‘Initiatives in Diversity’ award at The City of London Wealth Management Awards 2019.

  • Stuart Dodson

    Stuart is a sales and distribution professional with 24 years’ experience working in the financial advice sector across directly authorised, introduced and appointed representative business models.

    As Managing Director of The Openwork Partnership, Stuart is the Executive responsible for the commercial relationships with Openwork’s 730 appointed representative firms and its additional businesses 2plan and Owl Financial. He holds SMF responsibility for proposition, marketing, recruitment, and advice distribution, and is a board director of Openwork Limited and 2plan Wealth Management, the group’s two regulated distribution entities.

    Stuart started his career as a financial adviser at Britannia Building Society and Legal and General before moving into senior management roles where he was responsible for key national distribution relationships. For the eight years prior to joining Openwork in February 2022, he was Managing Director of Newcastle Financial Advisers Ltd, one of The Openwork Partnership’s largest Partner advice businesses. Additionally, during 2020 and 2021 Stuart also chaired the Openwork LLP Shareholder Council, which represents the shareholder interests of LLP member-owners, and was a director of Openwork Holdings Ltd.

    Michael joined the Board of Directors of Deutsche Bank SAEU in Madrid on 1st July 2022 and was elected to the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank ( Switzerland ) in Zurich on 6th October 2022

    In the UK, he is an independent Non-Executive Director of Hargreaves Lansdown PLC, the UK’s leading digital investment platform. He is also a Board Member of Walpole British Luxury, the official sector body for British Luxury; he is the Senior Independent Director at the Personal investment and financial advice association (PIMFA);and he is Deputy Chair of the Centre for Mental Health.

    He is also a member of the China Advisory Council at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.

    His executive career spanned three decades:

    From July 2017 – June 2022 he was Chief Executive of Deutsche Bank UK Limited and Head of the firm’s UK Wealth Management business.

    From 2009 – 2016 he was Chief Executive of Coutts & Co and a Director of Adam & Company. From September 2009 – 2017 he also served as Chair of Royal Bank of Scotland International, the offshore banking business of the RBS Group in the Crown Dependencies of Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man and the Crown Territory of Gibraltar.

    He has over 30 years of experience in financial services, including eight years with Merrill Lynch as Managing Director for UK Private Banking and Director of Private Wealth Services for Europe and the Middle East. From 2002-2007 he was Head of International Private Banking at Barclays Wealth and CEO of Barclays Switzerland.

    Michael is married to a Spaniard, has two sons and studied Modern and Medieval languages at Christ’s College, Cambridge. He lives in London and Madrid.

    As Parmenion’s Chief Commercial Officer, he is responsible for growing mutually beneficial relationships with both existing and new customers, and for strategic mergers and acquisitions that strengthen the Parmenion offer in the wealth management sector. Over 30 years’ experience in distribution management and proposition development at AXA, HSBC, Ascentric and Openwork. This experience gives Mike the broad perspective of both provider and customer. A believer in the need for innovation in the highly competitive platform/investment marketplace through genuinely symbiotic relationships with partners.

    Born and raised in Belfast. Ireland & Ulster Rugby supporter and proud dad to 3 grown up daughters, which means he has grown very used to ‘constructive feedback’ over the years.

    Helen is the Chief Operating Officer of Tatton Investment Management. Appointed to this role in 2015, having previously being Tatton’s Head of Governance, Helen is responsible for the day to day running of the business, business services and the oversight and direction of Tatton’s strategy.

    Helen has over 25 years’ experience in governance, proposition, product development and management with roles at Barclays Wealth and  AXA prior to Tatton.  This experience has Helen develop and deliver Tatton’s proposition to independent financial advisers and help the transformation of affordable discretionary fund management into a mass market offering.

    Married with one daughter, Helen is a strong supporter of diversity and inclusion and mentors a number of young women within and outside the wealth management industry.

  • Andrew Shepherd

    Andrew has worked in investment management and financial services since 1994. Prior to joining Brooks Macdonald, Andrew worked at Shepherd Associates Financial Management, qualifying as a Financial Planner and latterly holding the position of Investment Director.

    Andrew joined Brooks Macdonald in 2002 and was appointed CEO in 2021. He has held numerous roles across the Group, including Group Deputy CEO since 2015, and most recently CEO of the International business since 2019.

  • Sarah Soar
    CEO - Hawksmoor Investment Management

    Sarah has 35 years’ experience in investment and wealth management having previously worked for Seymour Pierce Butterfield, Brewin Dolphin and JM Finn. She has held roles ranging from Investment Manager, Head of Office, Regional Managing Director, National Director, Business Development Director and Head of Investment Management. She was the first woman to be appointed to the board of Brewin Dolphin Holdings PLC, a FTSE 250 company.

    Sarah currently sits on the board of PIMFA, the trade body of the wealth management industry, and is Chair of its Nomination Committee.  Sarah is also on the Council of the Institute of Directors (IOD) where she also sits on the Nomination Committee.

    In the past she has held external roles such as Chair of Governors of St Francis School, Pewsey and Chair of the Marie Curie Spring Arts Committee.

    Married with two daughters, Sarah is a strong supporter of diversity and inclusion and is a mentor to a number of young women in the wealth management industry.

    In her spare time she enjoys swimming, yoga, Pilates, reading, travel, theatre and walking her Great Dane.

  • Paul Stockton

    Paul became Chief Executive of Rathbone Brothers Plc in May 2019. Prior to this, he was group finance director from 2008 to 2018 and Managing Director of Rathbone Investment Management from May 2018. He qualified as a chartered accountant with PriceWaterhouse in 1992. In 1999 he joined Old Mutual Plc as group financial controller, becoming director of finance in 2001 and finance director of Gerrard Limited eight months later. Two years after the sale of Gerrard in 2005 he left to work initially for Euroclear and, subsequently, as a divisional finance director of the Phoenix Group. He was formerly a non-executive director of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

  • Geoff Towers

    Geoff brings over 35 years of wealth management and investment services experience including leadership roles at Citibank, Legal & General and Barclays International Funds Group. He was the first chief executive of Standard Life’s platform business. He has worked in financial services in some 20+ countries and has experience in a wide variety of regulatory and business environments.

    He served as CEO of BNY Mellon’s Pershing Ltd for six years before deciding to step down in 2021 to focus on a number of non-executive roles – only to discover that running fast growth companies is too interesting to leave behind – so he joined GPP as their CEO in 2022.  

    Geoff has a particular interest in some of the more complex areas of diversity and inclusion and, in particular, in unconscious bias and how we can overcome its effects. Geoff served on the advisory board of the City of London Social Mobility Task Force.

  • Richard Wilson

    Richard has 25 years’ experience leading scaled international service and transformation delivery in retail and wholesale banking and broking financial services. He spent 13 years with Societe Generale CIB in various roles in London, New York and Paris, including Finance, Operations, CTO and Data.

    Richard then spent 12 years with Newedge, the global derivatives broker, one of the 30 UK systemic risk firms, where he was CTO, then CEO and ultimately Chairman, responsibility for both multiple firm acquisitions and integrations, and delivering award winning service. More recently Richard was CAO of the Co-operative Bank from May 2015 – May 2016, where he led the bank’s operating model transformation and banking operations. Richard became CEO of interactive investor (ii) in March 2017 and has been an ii Board Director since October 2015.
